The Parks Foundation of River Oaks (“Foundation”), a non-profit organization registered in Texas, has established this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) in order to demonstrate a commitment to the privacy of your Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). The following discloses the general policies relating to information gathering and dissemination practices for this website (“Site”).
This Policy outlines, among other things, what information is gathered through the Site, how that information may be used or disclosed, and the efforts to protect it.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

The Foundation may request information from you when you:

  • Use the Site.

  • Make a donation in support of the Foundation.

  • Subscribe to a newsletter or ask to be added to an email or mailing list.

  • Subscribe to a service.

In connection with the above, the Foundation may collect the following information:

  • Name, address, zip code, e-mail address, IP address, age, gender, phone number, username, password, company name, and any information you post on a discussion board or other interactive feature of the Site.

  • Aggregate information of what pages users visit on the Site.


Providing the voluntary data described above is at your sole discretion.

The Foundation may use PII and certain non-personally identifiable information (such as anonymous usage data, cookies, IP addresses, browser type, clickstream data, etc.) to do the following:

  • Analyze user traffic, usage, preferences, trends, and broad demographic information in order to operate and improve the features and functionality of the Site.

  • Contact you by e-mail to assist you if you forget your log-in information.

  • Contact you by e-mail regarding events, activities, or other information about the Foundation or River Oaks city parks that we believe might interest you.


The Foundation is the sole owner of the information collected on this Site. The Foundation only has access to/collects information that you voluntarily provide via email or other direct contact from you. If you submit PII to us through the Site, we use that information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Site. The Foundation may also use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us.

The Foundation may choose to disclose the collected information described above to companies that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors, data processors, technical systems consultants and programmers, and the advertising firms that we use to promote our Site. The Foundation may also share other information about our users with advertisers, sponsors, and other third parties, but solely through aggregated, summary information that will not identify any specifics directly related to your identity.
You authorize the Foundation to disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as the Foundation, in its sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, violation of obligations to us under the Foundation’s Terms of Service Agreement or any other agreement or policy, or other illegal activity.

The Foundation will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from the Foundation at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address given on the Site:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.

  • Change/correct any data we have about you.

  • Have us delete any data we have about you.

  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Public Forums

​This Site may utilize public forums, which may include blogs, forums, message boards and other interactive features. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas is not protected as confidential and becomes public information. Password Protection

To protect your privacy and security, the Foundation takes reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before allowing creation of a user account. The user that created the account is responsible for maintaining the secrecy of a unique password and account information at all times.

Disclosure Choices

You may, of course, decline to submit PII through the Site, in which case the Foundation may not be able to provide certain services to you.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way.

IF YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL REQUESTING THAT YOU SEND FINANCIAL INFORMATION BY E-MAIL, DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THE E-MAIL AND PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY VIA THE E-MAIL ADDRESS ON THE SITE.

Regardless of the precautions taken by you or by us, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet. Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your personal information that they collect from the site. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private. We cannot ensure or warrant the ultimate security of any information you transmit.

Changes to Privacy Policy

Registration

To opt-in to Foundation communications, a user must first complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain PII (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about news and information pertaining to the Foundation and River Oaks city parks.

Opt-Out

To remove your PII from our database so that you do not receive further communications, you can click the opt-out button at the bottom of any of our communications or contact us via the email address given on the Site.

Cookies

The Foundation may use “cookies” on this Site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a website visitor’s hard drive to help improve access to a site and identify repeat visitors to a site. For instance, when the Site uses a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on the Site. Cookies can also enable the Site to track and target the interests of users to enhance the experience on the site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any PII on the Site.

The Site may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that the Foundation is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other websites. The Foundation encourages users to be aware when they leave the Site and to read the privacy statements of any other website that collects PII.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our Site may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this Site.

Age Restrictions; Children’s Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13. If the Foundation obtains actual knowledge that it has obtained PII about a child under the age of 13, that information is immediately and permanently deleted from our records.

Acceptance of Privacy Statement

Your use of the Site, including any dispute concerning privacy, is subject to this Policy and the Terms of Service Agreement. BY USING THE SITE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT. The Foundation reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time by posting the changes on this page. The changes take effect as soon as posted. Your continued use of any portion of the Site following posting of the updated privacy statement will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
